To download Ubuntu on Windows 7 32-bit, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the official Ubuntu website (ubuntu.com).
  2. Click on the "Download" tab.
  3. Select the version of Ubuntu you want to download (make sure it is compatible with 32-bit).

Since there is no official download link for the software I recommend you search in Google and download the software.

Once you download the package please use the following commands to install and run the software.

Open a terminal and type the following commands:

sudo bash /"path where you extract mobile partner"/Linux/install
//note: If you are already logged in as root, delete SUDO as you already have access to system files.
When the installation is finished, plug-in your USB modem and use it accordingly.

You might have installed the parallel os (windows) after ubuntu. This could cause a problem since windows does not recorganise the ext file formats of ubuntu. Try installing ubuntu after windows.

The Ubuntu Menu successfully shows when starting, viz

  • Demo and Full Installation,
  • Install Inside Windows, and
  • Learn More.

On attempting to install 'Inside Windows', the installation seems to work well until near the end of installation when I get a message - ' An error occurred - Permission denied -
Please see the log File …..wubi-9.04rev..

This log file is very lengthy but towards the end I have found the following which may be the reason for not being able to install Ubuntu – “cannot download metalink and therefore Traceback”

The same think happens when trying to run ‘Demo and Full Installation.

Your comments would be really appreciated

you must have administrator privilegies to install ubuntu inside windows partition. It is required to change boot manager config file. Run setup as an administrator, or allow privilegies elevation when asked by UAC in Windows Vista.
